Meet Team TGH!

Dan has been involved with TGH since 2002 and on staff since the summer of 2010. After spending several years as a Legislative Aide to a U.S. Congressman in Washington, DC, he returned to Boston as the Technology Director at Fenway High School. In 2006, he was hired by the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School in Dorchester to help implement the largest middle school 1:1 laptop initiative in New England. Nothing is more important to Dan than his two adorable little girls (and the Sox winning the WS in 2004).
Quick Fact: Dan is a boisterous Buffy fan.

Theo joined TGH in 2012 as a New Sector AmeriCorps Fellow to develop the TGH Small Business program and implement a social media strategy. Before coming to Boston, she worked in communications at Ashoka's global headquarters in the DC area, where she helped engage and support the network of 3,000 Ashoka Fellows in 73 countries. Prior to that, she earned a BA in Comparative Literature and an MS in Commerce, both from the University of Virginia.
Quick Fact: Theo would like to challenge you to a Wii dance off.

Ms. Shi is the Program Director at Tech Goes Home. Previous to Tech Goes Home, Ms. Shi was Executive Director at English At Large, an organization providing free and accessible English language instruction to immigrants and refugees in Middlesex County. As the Director of Education and Outreach at the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence, Qingjian conceptualized and implemented a youth initiative called the Youth Empowerment Project – a program engaging Asian American adolescents to become leaders in their communities and voices of anti-violence. Ms. Shi has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is bilingual in Chinese and English.

Quick Fact: Qingjian wears ski goggles while cutting onions.

Previous to TGH, Barbara worked as the Development and Grants Coordinator at The Welcome Project, which builds the collective power of Somerville immigrants through adult and youth programming. While there, she implemented a monthly giving program, managed the grants cycle, oversaw the donor database, and coordinated its annual fundraiser YUM: A Taste of Immigrant City. Barbara has an MA in Urban Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University.

Quick Fact: Barbara enjoys baking sticky buns and cheesecake.

Eric began teaching community courses with Tech Goes Home in 2016 and joined the TGH staff in the fall of 2017. After moving to Boston to pursue a PhD in applied physics from Harvard University, Eric left that program to focus on community organizing and providing educational access to our most vulnerable and marginalized communities. Prior to Tech Goes Home, Eric was Volunteer Coordinator at Haley House, was a grant writer at the New Economy Coalition, and has served in multiple capacities as a computer and technology educator for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. Eric holds a BS in Physics with a minor emphasis in Technology Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Quick Fact: Eric has been to all 50 states in the U.S.
